The Center for Public Relations, formed on the initiative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region, held its first meeting today, during which three cases were considered. 

All of them are connected with the illegal criminal prosecution of the business.

In the first case, the distorted results of the tax audit turned the businessman into a malicious defaulter and a person involved in a criminal case. And although after contacting the Commissioner and the regional prosecutor's office six months ago, the arrest was removed from the accounts, the property and documentation were returned, the entrepreneur still does not know about his status – the pre- investigation is completed or extended.

The second appeal – a businessman from the Moscow Region is accused of fraud. At the same time, the accusation is not documented, contains unreliable and unconfirmed information, and is also based on speculations and assumptions of biased witnesses.

In the third case, the businessman is accused of tax evasion on a particularly large scale. The expert's conclusions based on the accusation were executed in violation of the current legislation. The investigation of the criminal case is conducted with an accusatory bias, the defense petitions are unmotivated ignored and remain without consideration on the merits.

"Our main task is to protect the rights of entrepreneurs from corrupt actions by officials, from unjustified criminal prosecution, including related to raiding and unfair competition. Guided by the principle of transparency and information openness, together with our fellow lawyers, we will consider the most complex cases, like those that were announced today during the meeting, and take a direct part in resolving conflicts”, noted Vladimir Golovnev, the Moscow Region business Ombudsman.

He also noted that as a result of the meeting, all cases will be sent to the Moscow Region prosecutor's office for taking measures of the prosecutor's response.
