ENTREPRENEURS WILL NOT SPEND MONEY ON ACCEPTING PAYMENTS THROUGH THE SBP UNTIL THE END OF 2022
The state will continue to compensate small and medium-sized businesses for the costs of using the Fast Payment System (SBP).
The compensation program has been extended until the end of this year.
"Payment using the domestic Fast Payment System is possible both in regular stores and on the Internet. SBP supports most payment methods, including through scanning a QR code at the checkout, a payment button on the store's website," says Mikhail Bedlovsky, head of the Payment Systems Department of the Central Directorate of the Central Federal District of the Bank of Russia.
When a company or an individual entrepreneur accepts payments for their goods and services through the SBP, for example, by QR codes, they deduct to banks a commission of no more than 0.7% of the purchase amount. This is usually 2-3 times less than the acquiring rates (payment by bank cards).
"In Russia for the first half of 2022, more than 70 million payments worth over 200 billion rubles were made. A considerable share in the turnover is also occupied by the Moscow region. The Moscow region business is quite actively using the opportunity to pay for purchases through the SBP. It is fast, transparent and convenient for everyone – both buyers and sellers. There is no need to spend additional funds on the installation of special equipment, no investment is required in strengthening the Internet signal to connect to the bank.
Such a payment method, in my opinion, is very relevant for remote territories of the region, where failures often occur with the work of the cash register equipment," commented Vladimir Golovnev, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow region.
He also stressed that today more than 170 banks in the country support the possibility of payment through the SBP. And every entrepreneur can choose the most convenient option for himself.
