Vladimir Golovnev: currently being developed, the self–employed insurance model is an important support measure.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation announced the development of a model of a voluntary social insurance system for the self-employed.
It is planned that the opportunity to make appropriate deductions will appear in 2023 year.
To date, the self-employed persons already have the opportunity through the application "My Tax" to voluntarily (optionally) save for retirement and pay pension contributions. A person can specify the amount of the desired pension and receive the amount of monthly deductions and vice versa.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Labor, the same voluntary opportunity is being developed for social insurance, through which the self-employed will be able to receive paid sick leave. The project is being discussed with business, insurers, and the Federal Tax Service. It is planned that the self-employed will have the opportunity to voluntarily enter into compulsory social insurance already in 2023 year.
- Currently being developed, the self–employed insurance model is an important measure to support self-employed citizens. More than 403 thousand people have already been registered in the Moscow Region, they work in a variety of fields - confectionery production, repair of equipment and premises, tailoring, copywriting and much more. It is very important for such people to feel the support of the state. I think this will give an additional incentive for business development in Moscow Region, – said the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region Vladimir Golovnev.
