Moscow Region expands the practice of interaction between business and penitentiary institutions.
The prospects of interaction of the business community with institutions executing punishment in the form of forced labor were discussed today at a working meeting by the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region Vladimir Golovnev, the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Moscow Region Alexander Vetrov and the acting head of the Department of the Ministry of Justice for the Moscow Region Roman Kloptsov.
As the participants of the meeting noted, such a practice of replacing imprisonment with forced labor has many advantages both for the convicts themselves and for business.
During the discussion, the main legal provisions, social and economic aspects of the implementation of this measure of punishment in Russia, the participation of business in the formation of conditions for expanding the practice of forced labor (risks, format, etc.), as well as the main problems faced by employers and ways to solve them were considered.
"The assistance of the business community in the implementation of the reform of criminal and penal enforcement legislation can contribute to the socialization of convicts, as well as eliminate the sectoral personnel shortage. There are already positive examples of cooperation between penitentiary institutions and business in the Moscow region. For example, "PDS INVEST" LLC is noted by the Gratitude of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation for active and fruitful cooperation in the implementation of the project on the development of a network of correctional centers in the country," commented Vladimir Golovnev.
The Business Ombudsman also noted that currently there are 9 institutions in the Moscow Region that carry out punishment in the form of forced labor, eight of which are open on the property base of enterprises.
