The Moscow Region Business Ombudsman and the regional Public Supervisory Commission (PSC) summed up the results of cooperation in the protection of the rights of entrepreneurs in custody.
At a joint meeting of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region Vladimir Golovnev and the Public Supervisory Commission of the Moscow Region, the results of the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement were summed up and joint events are planned for next year.
Last year, joint visits were carried out by a representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs and the Public Supervisory Commission of the Moscow Region, during which pre-trial detention centers in Kashira, Sergiev Posad, Serpukhov, Noginsk and Kolomna were inspected.
When visiting pre-trial detention centers, consultations were given on the procedure for appealing the election and extension of a preventive measure in the form of detention of entrepreneurs accused of committing crimes in the field of economics, and information was also provided on the possibility of sending appeals to the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region. Violations of the conditions of detention of the defendants were not revealed.
The chairperson of the Public Supervisory Commission of the Moscow Region Sergey Leonov spoke about the directions and results of the activities of the PSC in 2022:
"In October of this year, the sixth composition of the PSC was approved. The main task was to form a working staff representing all professions and civil strata of the population. The new composition includes representatives of the church, entrepreneurs, doctors. I am sure that the next 3 years the work of the PSC will be more productive and efficient. I would like to note that the interaction of the Commission with the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs is vital for the humanization of the criminal correctional system. As for efficiency, there are very few entrepreneurs in custody with an economic crime in the Moscow Region."
- The synergy of our cooperation with the Public Supervisory Commission of the Moscow Region leads to positive results. In 2022, we managed to change the measure of restraint in relation to two entrepreneurs. Instead of being detained, they were released on their own recognizance not to leave, - concluded the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region Vladimir Golovnev.
