A representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region, along with members of the regional Public Monitoring Commission, visited the federal state institution "Pre-Trial Detention Center No. 6" of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Moscow Region. 

For the purpose to monitor the conditions of detention, respect for the legitimate rights and interests of suspects, accused and convicted entrepreneurs.

In accordance with Federal Law No. 78-FZ of 07.05.2013 "On Authorized Persons for the Protection of the Rights of entrepreneurs in the Russian Federation", authorized persons have the right to visit institutions executing punishments and pre-trial detention facilities to meet with accused and convicted of crimes in the field of entrepreneurial activity.

Earlier, the Moscow Business Ombudsman Vladimir Golovnev received an appeal from an entrepreneur who is in custody in the Kolomna pre-trial detention center. In particular, it contained a complaint about the investigation of a criminal case by law enforcement agencies. On this issue, the Moscow Region Commissioner initiated a review of the applicant's arguments.

Having left for the place, the representative of the regional business Ombudsman provided advice on the procedure for appealing the extension of the preventive measure. The entrepreneur and his lawyer have been given recommendations to send appropriate appeals to the Commissioner. Lawyers are looking into the circumstances of the case.
