Vladimir Golovnev: Moscow Region is naturally in the top leaders of the ASI (Agency for Strategic Initiatives) rating.
During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2023), the results of the National Rating of the investment climate in the regions of Russia were presented.
The Moscow Region got into the top leaders of the rating and became the undisputed winner in the regulatory environment category.
Since 2014, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the Promotion of New Projects (ASI), together with leading business associations, has been annually compiling a rating of the investment climate in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. It is a tool for assessing the efforts of authorities at all levels to improve business conditions, and its results stimulate competition in the fight for investment at the regional level. Over the years, the rating has become a mechanism for the dissemination of best practices among the regions of Russia.
Presenting the results of the rating, Svetlana Chupsheva, the CEO of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, said that the number of business inspections has tripled over the year and now amounts to about 0.6 inspections per company, which is undoubtedly due to the current moratorium.
The governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov stressed: "The rating allows you to analyze the best practices. His strength is that we learn from each other." He noted the great export potential and the need to accompany enterprises in this direction. In 2022 alone, exports to the Moscow Region increased to $13.6 billion, most of which was the contribution of small and medium-sized businesses.
"The Moscow Region has again proved its leadership position in creating favorable conditions for doing business. This is facilitated by the position of the Governor and the regional Government team, based on the involvement of entrepreneurs in the problems, assistance and support provided to them," concluded Vladimir Golovnev, the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region.
