The Moscow Region ranks second in terms of the number of self-employed in Russia
According to the Federal Tax Service, 652.4 thousand citizens applying the special tax regime "Professional Income Tax" have been registered in the Moscow Region.
A year earlier, the number of self-employed was 481 thousand. In 2023, this figure increased by 35%. The Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region Vladimir Golovnev stressed that the growth in the number of self–employed is a great work of the regional Government and relevant ministries.
The Business Ombudsman explained that people often get self-employed status in order to legitimize additional income or turn their hobby into a business. Their main areas of activity are taxi services, repairs, marketing, sale of products of their own production, beauty and delivery of goods.
The Commissioner noted that all conditions have been created in the Moscow Region for business development and for the self-employed in particular. They can improve their skills on the terms of co-financing, receive a preferential loan in the amount of up to 500 thousand rubles. For all representatives of this category of citizens, the services of the “My Business” center are available, as well as the Mentoring program and state support for trademark registration.
Vladimir Golovnev clarified that the Commissioner has the right to consider applications received from self-employed citizens registered as sole proprietors. Self–employed individuals receive consultations through the public reception offices of the local Business Ombudsman.
