A representative of the Moscow Business Ombudsman visited the pre-trial detention center in Serpukhov.
In order to control the detention of entrepreneurs, suspected (accused) of committing crimes in the field of economics, Natalia Chudakova, a representative of the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs in the Moscow Region, as part of a Public Monitoring Commission headed by Sergei Leonov, visited the Federal Penitentiary Institution "Pre-trial Detention Center No. 3" of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Moscow Region, located in the Serpukhov city district.
The joint visit took place within the framework of an Agreement on cooperation between the Public Supervisory Commission of the Moscow Region and the Business Ombudsman.
The participants got acquainted with the conditions of detention of the accused and suspects in the pre-trial detention center. In addition to the inspection of the cells and premises of the pre-trial detention center, individual interviews were conducted on personal appeals received by the Public Monitoring Commission and the Commissioner.
During the thematic reception, suspects under Article 159 part 4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation were heard. Legal consultations were provided, explanations were given on the procedure for appealing the extension of the preventive measure in the form of detention, information was provided on the possibility of sending an appeal to the Commissioner.
According to the results of the inspection, there were no signs of violations of Article 21 of the Federal Law of the Russian Federation dated on 07.15.1995 No. 103-FL "On the detention of suspects and accused of committing crimes".
